Local Artist, Shiloh Perkins
Born in 1975 in Goldsboro, NC, Shiloh Perkins, a US Navy veteran, found solace in Alamogordo caring for his mother here in the New Mexican desert. Tragically, Shiloh recently bid farewell to his mother, leaving an indelible mark on his soul. However, out of the depths of pain and tribulation, a resilient spirit emerged—one driven by the transformative power of art. Shiloh Perkins transformed his experiences into a cathartic expression, using various forms of media to encapsulate the complexities of the human experience. His artistic repertoire knows no bounds, as he skillfully crafts copper sculptures that stand as testaments to both strength and vulnerability. Additionally, Shiloh merges the worlds of painting and functional art, creating beautiful paintings that serve as visual masterpieces.
Shiloh's creations are more than mere works of art; they are reflections of a life lived authentically, embracing the profound emotions that define our shared humanity. Each stroke of the brush, every twist of the copper wire, is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit—a spirit that has weathered storms and emerged stronger, much like the desert flowers that bloom in the face of adversity.
